Finding a reliable cook for home in Lahore usually means asking relatives, calling around and hoping the person who turns up can actually cook the way your family eats. The Cook Driver Welfare Association places cooks with Lahore households on a monthly basis. You tell the team what your household needs, the association shares suitable candidates on WhatsApp, and you choose. Sending a request takes about a minute, needs no sign-up and costs nothing.
Two kinds of cook
The association places two kinds of cook, and the salary range for each is shown on this page.
- Pakistani cuisine: the everyday food most Lahore families eat: salan, sabzi, daal, rice, fresh roti, and the weekend favourites such as biryani, karahi and qorma.
- Chinese and Pakistani: a cook who prepares everything above and also Chinese dishes such as chicken manchurian, chowmein and fried rice, for families who like variety through the week.
If you are not sure which you need, choose the one closest to your family’s routine and say what you want in the notes. The team will tell you which kind of cook fits.
Who a monthly cook suits
A cook placed with your household for the month suits families who want fresh, home-style food every day without spending hours in the kitchen themselves:
- Working couples and busy families who want lunch and dinner ready on weekdays.
- Families with elderly parents who need softer, less oily or low-salt meals cooked carefully every day.
- Larger households where cooking for six, eight or more people is a full-time job.
- Families who entertain relatives at the weekend and want the regular meals handled through the week.
For restaurant-style menus or frequent guests, a personal chef may suit you better.
What a typical day looks like
Each household is different, so the routine is agreed before the cook starts. A common pattern is that the cook arrives, checks what groceries are in the kitchen and confirms the day’s menu with you. Breakfast, a fresh lunch and dinner follow, with the kitchen wiped down after each meal. Many families also ask the cook to keep a shopping list, so nothing runs out halfway through cooking.
Tell the team on the request form how many people the cook will be feeding and which meals you need. That is what decides the right cook and, within the range, the salary.
What the household provides
Cooks prepare food in your kitchen with your groceries. The household provides:
- groceries, meat, spices and cooking oil;
- a working stove and gas, and basic pots, pans and utensils;
- clear instructions about dietary needs, allergies and family preferences.
Working hours, meals and any live-in arrangement are agreed with the association before the start date, so both sides know exactly what to expect.
The salary, and the association’s fee
The salary range on this page is the monthly salary paid by the household to the cook. Where in the range it falls depends on the cook’s experience, and the exact figure is agreed before the start.
The salary is not the association’s price. The association explains its own placement fee on WhatsApp before anything is agreed, so you know the full picture before you decide.
How to request a cook
- Choose the kind of cook and answer the short questions in the request panel.

Nothing is paid on the website, and nothing is agreed until you decide.
