Some households want more than everyday cooking: a wider menu, food that looks as good as it tastes, and someone who can handle guests without fuss. The Cook Driver Welfare Association places a personal chef for your home in Lahore on a monthly basis. Tell the team what you need, and the association shares suitable chefs on WhatsApp for you to choose from. Sending a request is free and needs no sign-up.
Home chef or hotel-trained chef?
The association places two levels of chef. The monthly salary for each is shown on this page.
- Home chef: an experienced chef who cooks a wide range of Pakistani, Chinese and continental dishes to a high standard for a household, plans menus and keeps a well-run kitchen.
- Hotel-trained chef: a chef who has worked in a hotel or restaurant kitchen. Suited to households that want restaurant-style menus and presentation, entertain often or host larger gatherings at home.
If you are not sure which level you need, choose the one closest to how you live and describe your entertaining in the notes. The team will tell you which fits.
Who a personal chef suits
- Families who entertain often and want guests served properly, week after week.
- Households with particular diets that need careful planning, such as low-oil, high-protein or diabetic-friendly menus.
- Larger homes where meals for the family, staff and visitors all have to come together.
- Families who simply want a higher standard of food and presentation every day.
For everyday family meals, a cook for home is usually the right choice and is paid a lower salary.
What a chef does
Every household agrees its own routine before the start. A chef typically plans the week’s menus with you, keeps stock lists so the right groceries are bought, cooks the daily meals, and prepares the menu, quantities and timing when guests are coming. Kitchen hygiene and organisation are part of the job.
The household provides the groceries, gas and a well-equipped kitchen. Waiters and serving staff for large functions, and catering outside your home, are not part of a chef’s placement.
Getting the most from a chef
A chef works best with a clear brief. Before the start, agree with the association which meals the chef prepares each day, how many people usually eat, how much notice you give for guests, and who buys the groceries. Many households keep a simple weekly menu on the kitchen wall and review it with the chef every few days, so shopping, cooking and the family’s preferences stay in step.
The salary, and the association’s fee
The figure shown for each level is the monthly salary paid by the household to the chef, agreed before the start. It is not the association’s price. The association explains its own placement fee on WhatsApp before anything is agreed.
